3-day itinerary

We love our food and independent Melbourne shops but are not the biggest fans of your standard Melbourne touristy itinerary, as such the below recommendations would make the perfect weekend for us, we hope you will enjoy some of the recommendations.

In summary

  • Day 1: Check-in 3pm

    • Go buy a bottle (or 2) of wine from Blackhearts & Sparrows. The service is impeccable and they always have great natural wines

    • If it’s sunny outside, head to the Napier for a refreshing beer after the long journey, this is the best way to arrive home

  • Day 2: Carlton, Vic Market, Art Gallery and Hardware Lane

    • Walk down Gertrude Street to Morning Market for a coffee and pastry

    • Continue your journey through the Carlton Gardens, second coffee from Market Lane, Breakfast at DOC Espresso

    • Grab yourself a sausage or excellent Borek from the Queen Victoria Market and look are all the speciality shops.

    • Walk down Hardware lane to the Art Gallery of Victoria (Free entry unless you wish to view a specific exhibition.

    • Get a drink at Arbory afloat during summer, a drink at Loui Bar (Melbourne’s free alternative to watch the sunset). Make sure to wear shoes as they have a dress code. Make your was back to the Hardware Lane area and have dinner at one of these places: Kirks Wine Bar, Tipo 00, Osteria Illaria, Miznon or Hardware Club

    • Walk back home having a drink at Bar Margeaux and Siglo

    • Alternatively have dinner at Bodega underground, Sunda or Longgrain

  • Day 3:

    • Pick your poison, if you like second hand shopping go check out these shops. If you love food go and have Yum Cha at Secret Kitchen in the CBD or head down to the beach and end your day in South Yarra’s famous Chapel Street. If you have your own transport we’d recommend Black Rock or Sandringham. Otherwise, take the tram down to St Kilda. Make sure to have a drink at Stoke House and take away Fish & Chips from PaperFish.
