HOW TO ENTER THE HOME AND LOCK UP

When you arrive

The keys are in a key-safe attached to the pipe on the left of the property, beside the rubbish bins (low to the ground). Your personal code will be sent prior to your arrival. In the key-safe there are three keys: the blue key is for the security door, the purple is for the front and internal doors, and the green key is for the back gate.

Kindly note that the back gate is a little tight and can only be opened from the inside courtyard, please ensure you pull it firmly shut and lock it when not in use.

When you leave

To lock up, ensure back gate and two courtyard doors are locked. Close the front door, lock the security door and kindly place the keys back in the key-safe.

HOUSE RULES

  • No smoking inside the house

  • No parties

  • You are welcome to invite up to 4 guests

  • Be mindful of the neighbours and playing loud music after 12am

How to get around

We feel it is best to explore Fitzroy and surrounding suburbs by foot. But if you wish to head into the CBD or suburbs further away there are various options outlined below.

Uber/13Cabs

Both Uber and 13cabs are widely used in Melbourne, both are excellent modes of transport and have good apps. Please note traffic gets very heavy in the city and we would refrain from using cars during rush hour (7-9:30am and 4:30-6pm).

Public Transport 

Public transport around is Melbourne is one of the easiest ways to move yourself from A to B; there are trams, trains and buses. If you have an Android phone, you can use your phone to touch on and off, otherwise you will need to buy a Myki.

Trams inside the city centre are free, please note the closest tram stops to George are 2 stops outside of the free tram zone.

Alternative modes of transport – Ebikes and Scooters

In Melbourne you can rent an EBike or Scooter from Lime. Lime can be booked through your Uber app.

How to get here

DIRECTIONS

From the airport

Uber/Taxi – Catch an uber or taxi to the front door, this costs +/- $60 and takes about 30 minutes.

Public transport – Take the Skybus ($19.95) to Southern Cross Station, from there hop on tram 11 ($4.60) and get off at Stop 14, Hanover Street. George is a 6 minute, 400 metre walk to the East. This journey is +/- 60 minutes.

By car – Please refer to Google Maps.

Parking

On George Street and Condell Street there is free four (4) hour parking between 7am and 4pm Mon-Fri, outside of these hours and on the weekend it is unlimited. A visitor parking permit will be provided allowing unlimited parking in the surrounding streets.
